Aidan Price may have come as a ruggedly handsome, rich but bum party animal but deep inside, he’s got a secret so well kept that even his sister did not know about it. And then he met the most intriguing girl in a bar, kissed her right there and then, but wasn’t able to get her name.

Deborah, beautiful and driven; she’s come a long way from a scrawny little girl moving from one foster home to another. She is now being considered as a partner in a financial firm but she still prioritizes her so-called family. A night at the bar would be perfect to ease her mind from all the stress she got from work. A night that led to a stranger. A stranger that led to a sumptuous kiss that moved her world.

A rather incriminating situation involving Deborah’s “brother” had her do something illegal, brought Aidan and her back together. Something that Aidan had personally witnessed, thus questioning her credibility and attitude towards him. Was she only playing him or was she really in a dire situation that puts both their lives on risk?

I really like it when I read a story that is written in first person, told in alternating points of view. It always fascinates me what goes inside the head of the male protagonist after the female lead had shared her thoughts. Yes, I’m used to all the crazy thoughts that females have, so telling a story on a man’s view is a great excuse to know how men behave.

Risk, A Billionaire Love Story is a welcome change from all those billionaire series I have previously read. This story from author Kaelyn Swan came as a surprise to me although I have expected it to be steamy and hot. What set Risk apart from other adult-themed novels is. it didn’t focus too much on erotic scenes but more on the heart of the characters. The risk that each had to take to be able to prove themselves and move forward from the predicament they had previously lived in. I don’t know if the author will write a sequel to this novel, and I really hoped she would, because I would like to know more about the characters, mainly Aidan & Deborah, as well as Amy, Tyler & David, on how they would fare with that the future brings to them. This had been an easy yet satisfying read, perfect on a lazy afternoon by the beach.
