As a successful photographer who frequently travels around the world, Chase Sullivan has his pick of beautiful women, and whenever he’s home in San Francisco, one of his seven siblings is usually up for causing a little fun trouble. Chase thinks his life is great just as it is–until the night he finds Chloe and her totaled car on the side of the road in Napa Valley. Not only has he never met anyone so lovely, both inside and out, but he quickly realizes she has much bigger problems than her damaged car. Soon, he is willing to move mountains to love–and protect–her, but will she let him?

Chloe vows never to make the mistake of trusting a man again. Only, with every loving look Chase gives her–and every sinfully sweet caress–as the attraction between them sparks and sizzles, she can’t help but wonder if she’s met the only exception. And although Chase didn’t realize his life was going to change forever in an instant, amazingly, he isn’t the least bit interested in fighting that change. Instead, he’s gearing up for a different fight altogether…for Chloe’s heart. 

Chase Sullivan, the photographer, found love under the rain after rescuing a damsel in distress. But Chloe Peterson’s not really a damsel waiting to be rescued,  she’s got a lot in her hands – bruised hands to be precise, and a lot more that she could do with it.

Chloe’s car broke down near a ditch, but the damaged not’s only in her vehicle, but also on her face. Chase helped her out and offered a roof for her to stay the night. What Chloe didn’t anticipate was the kind of attraction she felt for him even though she was desperately trying to steer clear of men, given the abusive relationship she had just escaped from.

I don’t know about you, but there’s something about a rain scene with a distraught female that always gets me. Cue in slow motion sequence and background music and somehow I could easily get lost in the characters’ world of loneliness, craving, anticipation, desire and a week of lust and love.

However, the instant love connection and professing one’s emotions to someone you’ve just met in less than 72 hours was a bit too rushed and convenient to me. I thought Chase was being too upfront with his feelings and Chloe was a little aggressive despite getting hurt by a former flame. I didn’t buy their insta-love, it was just too unrealistic to me.

The story was overall entertaining, although I was more entertained by the bit character, Jeremy, who had the hots for Chase’s brother. Quite a character, that he was. Chase’s big family was something to watch out for, too. They’re a big family of 8 siblings supported by their mom after their father died earlier on. I commend Chase’s mom for the great job in raising her kids and I can’t wait to meet all of them.
