Review: Need You Now by Ali & Weston Parker

The most beautiful girl in the world, and she’s fiery mad at me.

It’s not really my fault. I’m a reporter. Digging up stories is my job.

Never in a million years did I expect my latest piece to create an enemy out of the one woman I’d give anything to date.

She’s tough, beautiful, and tied to my past in a way I didn’t imagine possible.

The world should know that she’s also generous, the center of a big story on a large donation to the town festival in her dad’s name.

But she’s not interested in the limelight or attention.

She wants to take care of the animals in her care and give back any chance she can.

I, on the other hand, want a chance at love.

And there’s not much I won’t do to make that happen.

She might be appeasing me to keep her story safe, but I’m on the hunt for far more than a headline.

I need her now. Today. Tomorrow. Forever.

Haven Martinez and her love for animals brought her back to Jackson Hole after the tragedy that befell her family. She Colton’s heart got broken when he discovered about his ex-girlfriend’s infidelity, thus made him want to swear off love or dating. He was a great reporter in Jackson Hole, until he learned about an unknown donor at a local charity event for animals. His investigative skills were put to test and gained a somewhat rather unexpected results.

Colton was bound to meet Haven and vice versa and for me, they got that chemistry right off the bat. Need You Now is a well written novel which I devoured in one night. I read the physical copy of the book (paperback) and it’s so gorgeous. I loved feeling those pages within my fingers as I encountered Colton Stark and Haven Martinez. Theirs was a love that was at first cranky and fiesty then turned sweet and intimate.

Surely this has been one of the most special books I’ve read from Ali Parker and Weston. Firstly, because this was the book they both wrote after selecting answers from us, Parkers’ Posse who attended the Parkers’ Build-A-Story Party/Event on Facebook. It was really a team effort to be able to create such a story. Secondly, I was luckily one of the winners, and my contribution was the female protagonist’s physical appearance and characteristics. I was blown away how Haven Martinez became a reality (at least in the book!) and how all our ideas were melded into a beautifully crafted story of love, drama, second chances and my favorite – love for animals. Love it!
