Review: The Honey Trap by Karli Perrin

After catching her childhood sweetheart cheating on her, Sophia Hamilton is hell-bent on stopping other women from getting played like she was.
And so the played becomes the player.

Fast forward two years and Sophia is now one of San Francisco’s most successful honey trappers. Getting paid to expose cheating men has become the norm but just when she thinks she has seen it all, she is offered a unique proposition which threatens to turn her entire world upside down.

Mason Hunter is a hotel tycoon, millionaire and cheater. Or is he?

Sophia has six weeks to find out.

She quickly discovers that Mason isn’t the only one keeping secrets and she becomes caught up in a tangled web of lust, lies and misplaced loyalties.

Lines are crossed. Rules are broken. The real Mason Hunter is about to be exposed.

The hunt is on.

My first time to read a book about getting paid to catch cheaters and this definitely had me hooked. Sophia Hamilton’s job is to trap men who cheats on their better halves. You’d think she’s a home wrecker but technically she’s not, because she only pretends to succumb to the men’s desires in order to expose their infidelity.

Mason Hunter is Sophia’s target, but she gets apprehensive when she learns the truth about her trap. Hunter isn’t like the other men she encountered, making it difficult for her to unearth his true colors. Soon, Sophia finds herself getting caught in a web of deceit and lies.

This isn’t my first Karli Perrin book and won’t definitely be the last. I love how unique Sophia’s job description was. It was at first weird reading about women paying great amounts to see their men getting seduced. However, this also made me realized that these women were apparently taking control of their relationship by finding the truth and acting on it.

Sophia and Mason’s romance was palpable, electric, stirring and impassioned. I loved how they managed their self control amidst the ensuing seduction and nexus of emotions. Karli Perrin herself seduced me with her beautiful writing, evocative characters and fantastic story line. This is definitely a must read!
