Review: The Player by Claire Contreras

The Player
by Claire Contreras

I’m naturally gifted on the field and between the sheets. With flashy cars and enough media attention to put the Royal Family to shame, I’m the definition of Most Eligible Bachelor.

I’ve never met a man who doesn’t want to be me or a woman who doesn’t want to tame me. Until I meet Camila.

From the moment I lay eyes on her, I know I have to have her.

She wants to keep me at arm’s length.
I want her naked in my bed.

She thinks our worlds are too different.
All I want her to think about is screaming my name.

She says I’m bad news.

I have three weeks to prove her wrong.

Warren Silva is a ladies man, successful professional football player and way beyond gorgeous. Women fawn and swoon over him, and he lets them stroke his ego. Famous, powerful, wealthy and cocky… What more could a woman ask for?

Camila Avila is a feisty, gutsy and beautiful woman who strives to give everything she can to the ones she love. When investors threaten to remove all tenants and businesses residing in their apartment complex, she decides to step up and let her voice be heard. But she doesn’t expect this man, Warren, to disarm her with his beauty and brawn. She doesn’t have an idea who Warren is and she doesn’t care. She’s attracted to him, true, but she’s not ever gonna fraternize with someone who’s soon going to evict her.

This is my first Claire Contreras book and I liked it already. Love the drama within drama and the sparks that flew between Camila and Warren. Intense and delirious, that’s what they are. The player and the fighter, the muscles and the beauty, the womanizer and the doting daughter… When Camila gets in the War Zone, their chasing moments make everything deliciously enticing to read.

I’ve read raving and stunning reviews for Contreras’ other novels, the Heart series, and with this satisfaction I’ve experienced with The Player, I am definitely going to devour all of her other books.
