Review: Dreaming At Seaside by Addison Cole

Dreaming at Seaside
(Sweet with Heat: Seaside Summers Book 2)
by Addison Cole

Bella Abbascia has returned to Seaside Cottages in Wellfleet, Massachusetts, as she does every summer. Only this year, Bella has more on her mind than sunbathing and skinny-dipping with her girlfriends. She’s quit her job, put her house on the market, and sworn off relationships while she builds a new life in her favorite place on earth. That is, until good-time Bella’s prank takes a bad turn and a handsome police officer appears on the scene.

Single father and police officer Caden Grant left Boston with his fourteen-year-old son, Evan, after his partner was killed in the line of duty. He hopes to find a safer life in the small resort town of Wellfleet, and when he meets Bella during a night patrol shift, he realizes he’s found the one thing he’d never allowed himself to hope for–or even realized he was missing.

After fourteen years of focusing solely on his son, Caden cannot resist the intense attraction he feels toward beautiful Bella, and Bella’s powerless to fight the heat of their budding romance. But starting over proves more difficult than either of them imagined, and when Evan gets mixed up with the wrong kids, Caden’s loyalty is put to the test. Will he give up everything to protect his son–even Bella?

Bella had been burned by love. Instead of moping around Connecticut, she decided to quit her teaching job to get away from the man who lied to her, and moved on with her life among friends and to start a new life at the Cape. And that included window eavesdropping, toilet decorating and skinny dipping.. Fun times! Until she got busted by the new cop on the block, Officer Caden Grant.

A single dad who moved to the Cape to build a new life with his teenage son after his partner was killed in the line of duty; Caden didn’t have time for dates or women or life outside their house and police station. But the moment he caught a sultry blonde red-handed outside someone else’s window, he could never get her off his mind.

I think I like this better than the first book, and pardon me for sulking a bit because I thought Kurt was the perfect book boyfriend…. Until Officer Caden Grant came along, and I think I wouldn’t mind getting arrested and handcuffed with this cop. Whew!

Dreaming at Seaside is fast paced and so easy to read. Bella and Caden’s road to forever wasn’t without bumps and humps. But the troubles and consequences that came along their way played a part in their journey towards romance and happiness. The events unfolding on every scene seem to happen in real life and I can’t help but feel compassionate with the gals and beauties at the Cape. It would surely be fun to have friends like Bella Leanna, Jenna and Amy. Although I am still uncomfortable with their half-naked sleeping outfits, I am game with their pranks and solid support to each other.

Addison Cole aka the sweeter version of Melissa Foster continues to astound me with fascinating love stories and floating on cloud-nine romances. I can’t wait to delve into Jenna’s and Pete’s story next!
