Review: More Than Friends by Monica Murphy

More Than Friends (Friends #2)
by Monica Murphy

He’s not perfect, but he’s all I want…

I’m your average girl at your average high school, trying to figure out my place in life. After catching my now ex-boyfriend messing around with my now ex-best friend, I’ve made some big changes. No more band, no more backstabbing friends and no more boring old life. Now I have new friends, a new job and new interests.

But there’s a certain someone who’s interested in me, and I don’t get it. Jordan Tuttle could have anyone he wants. He’s the most popular boy in school. Rich, gorgeous, smart and the star quarterback, he’s perfect. Yet he acts like he wants no one else but…me.

So despite my fears and doubt, I let him get close. Probably too close. I discover that he’s not so perfect after all, but it doesn’t matter. I’m falling for him, even though he runs so hot and cold. I know someday he’s going to break my heart.

And I’m going to let him.

The squad is back with more drama than I’ve ever wanted. I seriously just wanted to know if Olivia would eventually choose Ryan over her friendship with Dustin, but the focus of this second book is on Amanda Winters and Jordan Tuttle.

Amanda was fine, she wasn’t popular, she was formerly a member of a band but had made friends with Olivia when she discovered her former BFF hooked up with her boyfriend. Jordan consoled and comforted her, until she had unknowingly fallen for him.

Now all she needed to do was take that chance with him. But she couldn’t. She wouldn’t.

I thought it’d be better than the first book.. But the struggle was real. The story kept dragging, it was Amanda always doubting herself and Tuttle’s feelings for her. I didn’t see development with the characters, although there was a hint about Emily, but I’m not quite sure and not quite convinced. I had hoped Olivia would somehow change for the better, but I just got annoyed with her even more. She made Em looked more tolerable and indispensable.

Jordan Tuttle was adorable though.. I wish Amanda would finally make up her mind!

This book ends in another cliffhanger and I don’t know how to feel about it.
