Review: Stage Left by Ali Parker

Stage Left

(Bright Lights Billionaire Book 1)
by Ali Parker, JS Marx Designs (Illustrator)

officialsynopEthan Lewis has been in the bright lights for as long as he can remember. He’s just turned the cusp of celebrating his twenty-fourth birthday, and yet he feels more like eighty. Living the life of a celebrity isn’t all it is chalked up to be, and dealing with the unruly number of women who are more interested in his billions than who he is as a person is getting old. He has resigned himself to giving up on love and focusing on the only thing that truly gives back – his career.

Riley Phillips has always dreamed of being on a big stage with the warmth of the spotlight baring down on her, but she just couldn’t seem to catch the right agent’s attention. After giving a quick commencement speech as Valedictorian of her graduating class at Billmore High, she’s offered something she can’t refuse… The chance to work in Hollywood. It’s not all it’s chalked up to be, but she works hard and finally gets her big break four years down the line. There is a new movie that her agent wants her to audition for, and her co-star? The dreamy Ethan Lewis.

She scores the part, but soon regrets it due to his callous, overbearing persona. He’s nothing like the public touts, and she for one isn’t impressed.

Funny enough, he is – immensely.

This is book 1 in a continued series.

A famous celebrity eventually realizes that being popular isn’t always the best thing in the world. That the bright lights and sexy girls in his bed aren’t the things that make him happy. Ethan Lewis knows that his name means billions and women flock him because of that name.

An actress wannabe desires to see herself in the limelight. She has a good head on her shoulders but the people who manage her simply do not share her sentiments. Until an offer to do a Hollywood film knocks on her door. Is this the moment of truth for Riley Philips?

These poles don’t always meet but somehow manages to attract each other in the end. Ethan is easily enamored by Riley but he’s such an idiot, he never knows how to act properly in front of her. He says all the wrong words while sending out those sexy erotic signals. Riley, on the other hand, is wary, in control, in denial. But when there’s evident sexual tension, she falters and ends up getting disappointed.

Two contrasting characters, one opportunity of a lifetime. The stage is set for them, all they need to do is act.

Ali Parker has surprised me with this new series. I have always loved all of Ali’s previous books, all of which are definitely tasty and yummy. This latest one’s got me roaring and tumbling up and down. Ali never ceases to amaze me with her stories. Love the momentum that the characters had built, I love the excitement I feel whenever I get to read the next chapter. I love everything Ali writes. I can’t wait to read more!
