officialsynopHe’s every woman’s idea of the perfect man: a middle income job, a receding hair line that only Mr. Clean would envy, and a body fit for the beer Olympics.

Who could resist?

Meet Addison Anderson. Although Addy is happy with her life—she has a job she loves, family and friends who support her, and her very own sidekicks in her neurotic Superdog named Lola and a nefarious looking cat named Moustachio—she’s missing the one thing that every girl wants, a plus one to couple’s game night. Enter Charlie. Not exactly the man of her romantic fantasies, Addy is quick to put him in the friend zone, but as he rapidly becomes an invaluable part of her life, Addy must make a big decision: which is more important, that elusive spark or someone to share her life with? Join Addy on her comic voyage as she discovers that not every story is a story of love, sometimes it’s a story of like.

officialreviewAddie seemed to have it all – a nice-paying job, close friends and supportive (and really quirky) family members, cute cuddly pets like Super Lola and Moustachio.. All she needed now is someone to share it with. And she needed to do it fast. And so the idea of joining speed dating seduced her mind. She had to spend at least two minutes sharp with the male specie and she had to decide which ones she liked best. Prospects like a Ryan Gosling look-alike almost made Addie believe in a possible future with him, but then again, she wasn’t one that really gushed and swooned like most girls.

Yep, I guess I could say, she didn’t really have any romantic bones in her body because she didn’t believe she was capable of falling in love. She thought, when you want to find the right one for you, all you need is spark, right? Even after finally choosing and meeting Charlie, Addie wasn’t buying those romantic gestures and stuffs. Little did she know that Charlie was slowly winning her heart.

A Story of Like had me laughing out loud from beginning till the end. I’ve decided, this isn’t unromantic – this is pure bliss! I can’t count the times I rolled on my bed laughing and giggling and snorting and wiping my tears because of Addie’s funny and quirky personality. I would love to have her as a friend because for sure, I won’t be having any seriously boring moment when I’m with her. She’s hilarious!

And her love story, whether she likes it or now, it simply adorable! I fell in love with Addie and yes, Charlie and felt that this book was meant for me. A super exciting read! Congrats Courtney Clark for another 5-star rating! You deserve this!
