Review: VANISH by Sophie Jordan

Vanish

Vanish (Firelight #2)
by Sophie Jordan

An impossible romance.
Bitter rivalries.
Deadly choices.

To save the life of the boy she loves, Jacinda did the unthinkable: She betrayed the most closely-guarded secret of her kind. Now she must return to the protection of her pride knowing she might never see Will again—and worse, that because his mind has been shaded, Will’s memories of that fateful night and why she had to flee are gone.

Back home, Jacinda is greeted with hostility and must work to prove her loyalty for both her sake and her family’s. Among the few who will even talk to her are Cassian, the pride’s heir apparent who has always wanted her, and her sister, Tamra, who has been forever changed by a twist of fate. Jacinda knows that she should forget Will and move on—that if he managed to remember and keep his promise to find her, it would only endanger them both. Yet she clings to the hope that someday they will be together again. When the chance arrives to follow her heart, will she risk everything for love?

★★★★★: Awesome!!! I really loved this book! (Highly recommended)

Spoiler alert: This is an urban paranormal story that involves love triangles. So expect a lot of teenage struggle of choosing between two adoring males.

Jacinda returned to her Draki pride and Cassian made sure she and her family returned in one piece. She thought about Will, her true love, her human boyfriend. But to protect her family and the dragons, she had to move away from him. She had to forget him. Because she had no choice. Will’s memories of her had been wiped out. Gone. Vanished.

Something was brewing in her sister’s life, too. Something formidable, something powerful. All these years, Tamara had been jealous of her sister, but now her time had come, and her power could outmatch and shadow Jacinda’s.

Now, Cassian, was another story. I didn’t really like him in the first book, Firelight. In fact, I abhorred him. But here in the 2nd book, it seemed that he had redeemed himself.

I liked how the author had made a lot of character developments and world building in this book. I really have a lot of things I loved in this sequel but I don’t want to be a major spoiler. If you could only see what’s inside my head right now, I’m sure you’re gonna see a lot of jumbled words, freaking expletives and unspoken feelings. One thing’s for sure though. You wouldn’t want to get caught by the dragon’s talons.

Can’t wait to finish this series. Book 3, here I come!

  1. I never liked Jacinda’s sister and I thought she was a mean bitch. I mean what? Now that your life changed as well, you suddenly understand?
Nope, I don’t like her attitude. Anyway, glad you liked it. Can’t wait for the thir review!
