Review: READY TO WERE by Robyn Peterman

Ready to Were (Shift Happens #1)
by Robyn Peterman

I never planned on going back to Hung Island, Georgia. Ever.

I was a top notch Were agent for the secret paranormal Council and happily living in Chicago where I had everything I needed – a gym membership, season tickets to the Cubs and Dwayne – my gay, Vampyre best friend. Going back now would mean facing the reason I’d left and I’d rather chew my own paw off than deal with Hank.

Hank the Tank Wilson was the six foot three, obnoxious, egotistical, perfect-assed, best-sex-of-my-life, Werewolf who cheated on me and broke my heart. At the time, I did what any rational woman would do. I left in the middle of the night with a suitcase, big plans and enough money for a one-way bus ticket to freedom. I vowed to never return.

But here I am, trying to wrap my head around what has happened to some missing Weres without wrapping my body around Hank. I hope I don’t have to eat my words and my paw.

★★★★★: Awesome!!! I really loved this book! (Highly recommended)

Modelesque agent Essie vowed never to return to Hung Island, where her former Alpha lover still resided and headed their wolf pack. But due to a series of mysterious disappearances that involved their kind, Essie was sent to investigate and kick some butt, gay vampires included.

When she and ex-lover Hank met again, I couldn’t help but sing Celine Dion’s It’s All Coming Back To Me Now song. Damn, these pent-up lovers were in for a thrill but they just wasted their time fighting off their feelings!

But hey, there was fabulous Dwayne the super likeable vampire bestie, plus her uber cool Granny. And the missing werewolves and investigations proved to be really thrilling, jaw-breaking and tummy aching fun and exciting! These wonderful characters made Robyn Peterman’s werewolf shifter series a very entertaining, hysterical and adventurous novel that would have readers laughing and rolling and freaking until bedtime.

Oh. My Gosh. I think I spent most of the time laughing, smirking, swooning and grinding my molars while reading Essie’s hilarious rants and banter and action-packed scenes.

A year ago, I’ve read Peterman’s Fashionably Dead series and it became an instant favorite of mine. This year, history repeats itself as I gladly put Ready To Were to my number 1 spot of Favorite Shifter/Paranormal series! It’s a definitely hilarious, hysterical and humorous shifter story you shouldn’t miss!

Robyn writes because the people inside her head won’t leave her alone until she gives them life on paper. Her addictions include shoes (the expensive kind), Coke with extra ice in a styrofoam cup, and bejeweled reading glasses.

A former professional actress, she now lives in the south with her family and too many animals to count. Writing gives her a chance to have a job where working in her P.J.’s is acceptable.
