Review: The Promises We Keep

The Promises We Keep: A Made For Love Novel
by R.C.Martin

synopsisvioletThe promises you keep reveal who you are and define who you want to be…

With senior year of college just a breath away, Beckham and Grayson, brothers by fate, battle against their fears and surrender to their hearts’ bidding-consequences be damned-while Addison and Avery, sisters by blood, learn that in romance, all you need is love-except for when life is way more complicated than that.

Written in each of their perspectives, The Promises We Keep tells the story of a couple joined together and another split apart. As they make plans in preparation for life after college in the “real world,” they are each challenged with the reality that love can conquer all-but only if they choose to let it, which is never as easy as it sounds.

★★★★★: Awesome!!! I really loved this book! (Highly recommended)

Addison and Avery are sisters who are two peas in a pod. Beckham and Grayson aren’t blood related, but they’re closer than most brothers do. Two couples who have gone through a lot in their relationships. One pair are having second thoughts about spending their lives forever, the other pair is a little hesitant to take their friendship to a higher level. Other people come and go in their lives, some have succeeded in putting doubts in their mind, but in the ultimate end, the four of them took it upon themselves to settle their differences, promised to work things out,  and face their futures smiling and beaming.

Both pair experienced difficulties in their lives, with their respective families. Both pairs struggled, got hurt and almost gave up. But what I loved about them is that they put God within their midst and took another chance with love and grew up with better heads on their shoulders.

I couldn’t count the number of times I wiped my tears and stopped myself from sobbing while reading this book. The Promises We Keep just kept on drawing me in, sucking my breath, stilling my heart and pulling me in, like I belong there, with the characters, with Avery & Grayson, with Addison and Beckham. This book is totally addicting, awe-inspiring and astonishing. R.C. Martin just made me believe in Promises and Forever again.
