Review: Better the Devil You Know

Better the Devil You Know (Days of New, #3) devil3
by Meg Collett

Set in the same world as the bestselling End of Days series comes the darkly comedic stand-alone serial spin-off, Days of New.

They say insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome. Lucifer doesn’t need that definition to know he’s gone mad. When he came back from the dead, he only had thoughts of revenge and taking back what he’d lost: Hell and his army of fallen angels.

Except there’s only one flaw in his evil plan: He’s falling in love with the most unlikely person. But who could love an ugly thing like the devil? And Lucifer can’t bear to be hurt again. He’s already crazy enough.

The last thing Clark cares about is Lucifer’s love life, especially when Camille is missing and an entirely new threat has arisen called the Loyalists of Adam. But this new side of Lucifer may mean that Clark can get Camille back alive and possibly prevent a new war too. It’s a dangerous notion and one that could get everyone killed.

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that falling in love during times like these would be a better definition of insanity.

my review★★★★★: Awesome!!! I really loved this book! (Highly recommended)

Who knew Lucifer was capable of loving? What did Maya see in the Devil Incarnate? Would this circumstance enable Clark to rescue Camille from Lucifer’s wrath? Could Clark revive Camille? Would she still accept him again after all she’s been through?

Questions… Questions… Questions…

Yes, I got so many questions when I resumed reading book 3 from the Days of New Series. I got lots of questions about Clark, Camille and Lucifer. My mind was a jumbled mess when everything set into place. And for all those questions running in my mind, here’s what I got in return..

Twists… Twists.. Twists…

My goodness! Meg Collett is full of surprises. I was every bit shocked with Lucifer and Maya. I did not see that coming. Really! And I love this new development in Lucifer’s life.. er.. plans. I don’t know how to feel anymore. This is a whole new side of Lucifer that I’d gladly see. And there’s this new additional character that would definitely shake the group.

Can Grace be trusted or not? Will we ever see Clark perform his magic powers again? What would happen to Zarachiel? What’s with this group that hates angels? Will there be more bloodshed? Will there be more death?

and so here I am again.. with more questions…questions…questions…

Can’t wait to read the next book!

I was provided an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
