turtle power!

Still remember Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael & Michelangelo? No, not the famous Renaissance painters, artists nor sculptors…

I’m referring to the four “heroes in a half shell” brought up by Sensei – their adopted father – half rat/half-human Master Splinter.

Yeah! they’re the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

I actually grew up watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as a kid. I remember, I used to watch these dudes every Saturday afternoon, and they’re the ones who urged me to like Pizzas! Heck! I even had a crush on Casey Jones at that time! What the shell!

My favorite among the turtles was Michelangelo- let’s face it, he’s the coolest among the group! He was one shell of a Party Dude! Oh I remember their opening themesong:
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Heroes in a half-shell
Turtle power!
They’re the world’s most fearsome fighting team (We’re really hip!)
They’re heroes in a half-shell and they’re green (Hey – get a grip!)
When the evil Shredder attacks
These Turtle boys don’t cut him no slack!
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Splinter taught them to be ninja teens (He’s a radical rat!)
Leonardo leads, Donatello does machines (That’s a fact, Jack!)
Raphael is cool but crude (Gimme a break!)
Michaelangelo is a party dude (Party!)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Heroes in a half shell
Turtle power!

Now that I have my little boys, they’re the ones spending day & night watching the Turtles as they fight against Rocksteady & Bebop, Shredder & Krang!

Last week, during a non-working holiday, my kids and I decided to watch the newest TMNT Movie and boy were they so psyched to see April O’Neal. I mean, I can understand their infatuation with the red-haired news reporter in the cartoon series, but when they got to see Megan Fox, my eldest child actually screamed, OMG, She’s beautiful!

What the shell?! Kyle’s turning 9 years old in a month and I gotta ask, is 9 years old a safe year to start having crushes? (I actually learned from his former teacher that he sent a love letter to his long-time crush Chloe after their recognition day in March). Kyle + LoveLetter = Go figure!

Somehow I get this feeling that sometime or anytime soon, a girl in ponytails would approach me and asked for my son’s cellphone number.. Should I be worried now?
