officialsynopSometimes discovering the truth can leave you more hopeless than believing the lies…

That’s what seventeen-year-old Sky realizes after she meets Dean Holder. A guy with a reputation that rivals her own and an uncanny ability to invoke feelings in her she’s never had before. He terrifies her and captivates her all in the span of just one encounter, and something about the way he makes her feel sparks buried memories from a past that she wishes could just stay buried.

Sky struggles to keep him at a distance knowing he’s nothing but trouble, but Holder insists on learning everything about her. After finally caving to his unwavering pursuit, Sky soon finds that Holder isn’t at all who he’s been claiming to be. When the secrets he’s been keeping are finally revealed, every single facet of Sky’s life will change forever.

This is My first Hoover book is Hopeless and I instantly became a fan. I love how the author wrote and described Dean Holder and Sky; very realistic, character driven and full of emotions. While other people may probably say that it’s never a good idea to talk to strangers, I, on the other hand, would entertain Dean Holder if he comes up to me and ask for my name. I will tell him all things he wanted to know,, without batting an eyelash!

But seriously, the whole story is really beyond amazing. It opened my eyes to the world of the abused, neglected and abandoned. It made me realize that in the real world, someone, somewhere out there, yearns for the love of family and yearns for acceptance without prejudice, like Sky. That there’s somebody else hoping to find the one that had left a missing piece in their heart, like Holder. That somewhere, there’s someone who could never forget everything that he has done in the past, like Hope’s father.

Holder and Sky. Dean and Hope. The past and the present. I got the best and worst of both worlds in this stunning series. I enjoyed the cheesy moments, the heart-breaking scenes, the bestfriend intervention (Six is a really cool BFF!). I love everything in this book.

Colleen Hover has woven a tale that tells you not only to like, and live, but also to Love.
